Feature Client Journal - Crystal Deitch Week 7

‘So Many Changes, I Can't Keep Up’

I know from past experiences if I try to implement too many things at one time I get overwhelmed and end up failing at all of them. Dropping them completely and going on as if nothing happened and with nothing learned. So I think anyways…but there is ALWAYS a lesson to be learned and we always GROW from all our experiences. We just have to break down that wall of expectation and open our eyes to life’s sometimes subtle lessons. I seem to be more receptive when I make a couple of changes at one time then once I'm comfortable with those, I can then add a couple more.

Feature Client Journal - Crystal Deitch Week 5

The Get Your Glow Challenge has overall been an enlightening experience for me so far. I haven’t been fully dedicated to my exercise and am still getting the hang of meal planning and prepping for the week ahead. And I am still working on the spiritual side of things, trying to get more grounded and figure out what I want out of life while also trying to get that creative, free and fun girl inside of me to come out. While doing all of this I have also been reflecting on a lot of areas of my life that if changed, will make a huge impact on my life following the challenge. In this moment I am mainly speaking about my dietary consumption and the absence of dairy, sugar, gluten and alcohol during this health program.

Get Your Glow Challenge:  Thoughts after Week 4

I want to take a deep breath and bring myself to a calm, open place before writing this week. I feel that with everything I've been trying to accomplish plus these articles, I am rushing my writing and am not getting everything out that I want to. I can tell I am holding something back. My articles don't feel complete to me any more so I'm taking a different approach. I really contemplated how I wanted these articles to be, what they would include and how I would write them. I didn't want to write too much that was outside of my experiences with the Get Your Glow Challenge. Nothing that didn’t seem related or that was too personal and seemed off side of this program. I realized however, my thoughts and feelings are relative and add to this experience and my growth as a whole so I've decided to take the barriers down.

Get Your Glow Challenge:  Thoughts after Week 3

Week 3 of my Get Your Glow Challenge was about getting into my grove. I put a lot of new routines in place and am still trying to get comfortable with all of it. I’m feeling very busy and I don’t know how much I like that, It’s not something I’m used to. This past week I started going to some drop in cardio classes at the YMCA after work and for the days that I’m not at the Y I bought a great yoga DVD set called “the blissology project” with Eoin Finn. It has 6 DVD’s that include 12 different yoga routines and 6 different meditations.  Now cardio is not something I’ve ever really enjoyed but I know I have to get my ass off the couch and start doing something that will make me feel good. Like I’ve accomplished something that justifies lazing around on the couch. I’m not a runner, and this is supposed to be enjoyable for me so I thought drop in classes in a group setting would be a fun way to get my sweat on. So I tried Cardio Step! Which actually was hilarious for me. Why?

Get Your Glow Challenge:  Thoughts after Week 2

I started week 2 off in a pretty unique way that left me more relaxed and at peace than any massage or attempt so far at meditation. My husband and I went to a place called Float Wellness in Sherwood Park and went floating! What the heck is floating you ask? And what does it do? It’s where you are in something called a float tank that has 1100 lbs of Epsom Salts dissolved in the water making you feel weightless. The water is warmed to match your body temperature and after settling in you literally can’t feel the water around you creating an unreal sensation of floating in space! It’s a great resource for relieving stress, anxiety and depression. It aids with injury recovery, building your immune system, improves ones quality of sleep and so so so much more!
